I like this model because it is a little smaller than the common Spartan or Tinker, making it better for daily pocket carry. For some reason those two are in stores, and they are a little large in my opinion. If I want a larger blade, I will use one of my one-hand locking knives. Other than the slightly shorter blade, this Sportsman carries the same tools as the Spartan but in a smaller package.

One thing I don't like is the corkscrew. A proper Phillips screwdriver would be more useful, although the tiny flat screwdriver at the end of the can opener is tapered and actually works for many Phillips screws.

Bought these thinking they were TOP of the line goggles. I swim nearly every day and needed a good pair of goggles as an hour + of laps require quality goggles. They were terrible! The nose strap is a cheap plastic which digs into the bridge of your nose (even when it's the right size)..the rim around the glass is a VERY cheap plastic- not comfortable at all to have on your face.

I would rate these goggles and service a zero. They probably are worth .99 although i paid about $25.00 with shipping and the bummer is that they would not refund my $- only exchange.

I would recommend TYR only! And try to buy them locally not online as you never know what you're going to get- especially when you have to pay for shipping 3 times!

Regarding the 1W Blaze, I use it during the transition time of the year between summer and winter. During the winter when it's dark outside in the morning, I use a Niterider HID. In the autumn, the Niterider is overkill and I use the Blaze as backup if I get caught out after the sun goes down. I don't feel that the Blaze is sufficient as a primary light unless it's really dark outside -- it gets washed out easily by oncoming headlights and by other ambient light. It's strength is the blinking function -- the Blaze gets everyone's attention. The blink pattern is kind of stuttered and if you stare straight at it you'll probably have a seizure. Normally cars won't see me coming down the street and will just pull out in front of me either out of ignorance or spite. With the Blaze flashing away, it's apparent to me that I'm very visible; cars will pause at intersections just to figure out what kind of object I am. I feel safer.

Some people complained in their reviews about the mounting bracket -- I haven't really encountered any issues mounting it on a TTT Forgie (26 mm), as long as you make sure it's cinched down tight.

In summary: Superflash -- great, particularly when viewed straight-on. Blaze -- a bit underpowered as a sole light source but a reasonable backup light source in a pinch for times that you get caught out after sunset. Cheap Pearl Izumi Men's Triathalon Tri Cycling Short

Third pair of tri shorts that I've owned: My first being some Sugoi's which were to thick on the padding and a little awkward to run in. My second being some TYR "Splice Male 9" Race Shorts" which had to thin of padding and the seams started to come undone after the first use.

Well that brings my to my third, the Pearl Izumi's which I've heard so many good things about online. The padding is perfect for all three disciplines. They're really comfortable to wear and I ended up using them 5-6 days a week when I was training. They were $10-$20 more expensive than my previous shorts but totally worth it with the quality of the material. When I first bought them the elastics that surrounds my legs looked a bit loose but they adjust themselves once they're exposed to water. Triathletes like myself tend to have bigger quads and leg muscles so I think thats what the manufacturer had in mind when making these.

!!!WARNING!!!
These are not entirely bullet proof and buyers should really pay attention to the label that states NOT to expose them to chlorine. I was a bit lazy and would go in the chlorine jacuzzi at my gym after swimming. The shorts held up okay for 2 months but after that they started to get a bit see through in the front and back and loose in areas. 3 months later they are still usable though...

Tips for tri-short newbies:
If this is your first time owning a pair of trishorts learn how to take care of them and prolong their lifespan for training. When you finish a nice hard workout cycling or running just wear them when you walk into the shower to rinse them off. It's best to rinse them with cold water so after swimming. You can just spray them in the sink and then hang them somewhere out of the sun to dry. Also, NEVER curl your shorts in a ball (especially wet) for a long period of time.

If you train in a chlorine pool or know that you will come in contact with chlorine (like I did), do what I am doing now:
Buy a separate pair of shorts for swimming called jammers...I would suggest getting the "Speedo Men's Race Endurance+ Polyester Solid Jammer Swimsuit". They are meant for chlorine and give just about the same feeling that the Pearl tri-shorts give in the water minus the padding. They're $36 but totally worth it as both shorts will last you a long time. Oh and with regards to the speedo jammers, be sure to order a size larger than what you normally wear because the legs are known to be very a bit tighter than regular sizing.

They are not overly bulky like it's competitors are. I love that you can increase by 2.5lb increments. It takes a little mathematical thinking at first because the bar alone weighs 5lbs and you adjust each side independently. Each plate is 2.5lbs. If you are working out to a video, you need to be fast when adjusting the weight because you have dial each side (so 4 adjustments if working with 2 dumbbells). Sometimes it takes a little finesse to get the bar back in, but once you get the wiggle giggle figured out, they are great. Also, there is a little(very little) window which shows you the weight selected. This is a little bothersome when trying to adjust quickly to follow a video. Again, once you get the hang of the math and wiggle giggle, these are GREAT!! I really love them and totally happy with my purchase! Especially since they were about 1/2 the price of the competitor!!
